In a ute market that is incredibly competitive, the Mitsubishi Triton 2023 is a well-priced vehicle. The 2.4-liter MIVEC turbo-diesel engine used in all 4x2 and 4x4 variants is smaller and more agile than most of its ute competitors. It produces 133kW and 430Nm. The majority of the Triton range can provide double-cab versions as well as single-cab and club-cab body styles. The Triton’s 10-year warranty and 10-year capped price servicing is industry-leading.

Once more, there is plenty of storage space with to the cup holders, bins, and big door pockets. It would be comfortable to sit three abreast in the back pews, and there are two additional USB ports (available exclusively in top-spec GLS and GSR models) and cup holders in the fold-down center armrest for back passengers.

All cab-chassis models have manual temperature control, and the only dual-cab utes with dual-zone climate control are the GLS and GSR models; the other dual-cab models must make due with single zone.

You can get the aforementioned characteristics if you choose the GLX single-cab chassis 2WD base model. A free-wheeling front axle, a two-speed transfer case, 17 x 7-inch steel wheels, and a 4WD indicator are included when you upgrade to the same model's 4WD configuration.

The Triton was awarded a five-star ANCAP safety rating back in 2015, but any versions created after January 2023 are now categorized as "unrated". Nevertheless, all Triton models come with Emergency Stop Signal capability, a speed limiter, and EBD and so on. Additionally, all models are equipped with a complete set of airbags, including the driver's knee, front passenger's side, curtain, and driver's and front passenger's airbags.

The ute's cabin in GLX+ form is quite functional, as befits its trade-focused function.

Its pushbutton ignition and single-zone air conditioning system are out-of-date, and the infotainment system, which uses a small 7.0-inch touchscreen, may be slow and difficult to use. But there are numerous pockets and drink containers around the cabin, including large bottle holders in the doors, two USB-A connections, and a 12-volt power port.

If you upgrade to the GSR, the typically blue-collar ute has been modernized with tan orange upholstery and touchpoints coated in leather. The second-row seats are somewhat thin but surprisingly supportive, and the dashboard still has a lot of harsh plastic. Again, there is plenty of storage space with to the cup holders, bins, and big door pockets. It would be comfortable for three people to sit together, and there are USB outlets and cup holders for rear passengers.

Only the GLS and GSR dual-cab utes have dual-zone climate control; the rest must make due with single zone. All cab-chassis models have traditional manual temperature control.
