The Renault Koleos 2023  will continue to exist in its current form, according to Renault Australia general manager Glen Sealey, who also confirmed that the Megane E-Tech will go on sale in the fourth quarter of this year.

"Renault Koleos keeps going as it is right now. Production will undoubtedly continue into this year and into the following. We're not sure what happens next, Sealey added.

Renault hasn't yet disclosed its intentions for a Koleos successor, but Sealey emphasised that the company isn't yet giving up on combustion-engined vehicles.

If you examine what Renault has done, you will see that it has divided the business into several pillars, one of which is "Power." That's the moniker given to the work done on internal combustion engines.  Renault's continued investment in internal combustion engines demonstrates that it has a global focus in addition to Europe, according to Sealey.

Significant emerging markets outside of Europe, such as those in South America, Africa, Asia, and Australia, continue to have a high demand for gasoline- and diesel-powered automobiles.

It would be simple for Renault to rely on its Alliance brothers, the Nissan X-Trail and Mitsubishi Outlander, both of which currently have highly popular (and electric) midsize SUVs.

After all, the new Nissan Qashqai and the Austral compact SUV both use the CMF-C platform. But Sealey cautioned that the future Koleos might not be solved by a straightforward X-Trail twin. Interesting — all will become clear in due course.

Sealey was also quick to note that Australia would be very interested in a Koleos successor if one materialised in 2025.
