The Chevrolet Equinox 2023 is set to be replaced by the new model this autumn 2023, according to General Motors. While the business hasn't yet made any official announcements, pictures of the little electric crossover leaving GM's assembly plant in Mexico have appeared online.

Although GM has long been promoting models like the Chevrolet Equinox EV, it has taken a while for them to become available. Although the beginning price could be as low as $30,000, it won't be that low this autumn. Instead, expect it to be an accessible EV for the majority of people. Due to cost, GM CEO Mary Barra recently stated that it might take till the end of the decade before $30,000 EVs become a reality.

Alongside the Equinox EV, GM also intends to introduce a significantly larger Chevrolet Blazer EV. There are still a tonne of other vehicles in the horizon, such as an electric pickup truck called the Chevrolet Silverado and, eventually, sports cars.

GM has concentrated solely on premium products for its next-generation releases, such as the GMC Hummer EV and Cadillac Lyriq, as it works towards its EV aspirations. It did, however, remodel the reasonably priced Bolt EV and release a complementary crossover to sell alongside it: the Bolt EUV. Regrettably, in order to create room for Equinox EV sales and other electric models, production on both of GM's cheap EVs will cease this year.

It's possible that the manufacturing seen in Mexico was merely a test run or one of several small batches of cars being built for final inspection and assembly line setup. If the cars are from GM's test fleet that was seized, they can utilise them as test models right away and yet sell them afterwards.

Even though the 2024 Equinox EV wasn't scheduled to begin production until later this year, local sources claim that roughly 100 units each of the Equinox and Blazer EVs are currently being produced for export.
